Controller (Hybrid | Greater Tacoma, WA)The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.Seeking a Controller to lead property accounting for a large and expanding multifamily portfolio.What You'll Lead• Manage and develop a team of 4-5 accountants (onsite + remote).• Oversee full"‘cycle property accounting for 80-90+ multifamily properties.• Drive GAAP"‘compliant financial reporting and month/quarter/year"‘end close.• Manage GL activity, journal entries, bank recs, and financial statement preparation.• Partner with property management teams and external stakeholders on financial deliverables.• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and portfolio performance analysis.• Oversee payroll vendor coordination, insurance, and tax reporting workflows.• Support onboarding of new properties and continuous process improvements.• Leverage Yardi Voyager and advanced Excel to maintain reporting accuracy and efficiency.What You Bring• 5+ years progressive accounting experience.• 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.• Real estate or property management accounting experience (required).• Yardi Voyager expertise (required).• Strong GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel skills.• Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.Compensation & Schedule• Base salary: $110,000-$130,000 (negotiable).• Annual discretionary bonus. xijylhu • Hybrid: 3 days onsite, standard business hours.
