Treatment plans will address co-occurring disorders, leverage Alpas Clinical programming, address family systems and other factors influencing patients' recovery. The Clinical Therapist/Counselor inspires and motivates patients and helps them develop tools to work toward recovery using evidence-based and person-centered practices.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Evaluate patients' mental and physical health, addiction, or problem behavior and assess their readiness for treatmentHelp patients' develop treatment goals and plans, including support of education about medically assisted treatment options and referral to / collaboration with other resources on the medical and psychiatric teamsReview and recommend treatment options with patients and their families; partner with Treatment Navigators around after care planHelp patients develop skills and behaviors necessary to recover from their addiction or modify their behaviorWork with patients to identify behaviors or situations that interfere with their recoveryTeach families about addiction or behavior disorders and help them develop strategies to cope with those problemsRefer patients to other resources and services, such as job placement services and support groupsConduct outreach programs to help people identify the signs of addiction and other destructive behavior, as well as steps to take to avoid such behaviorPerform any other job-related duties as assignedRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:Must hold valid State of Virginia Licensure or Credential that allows for practice of Drug and Alcohol Counseling (CAC-AD, CSC-AD, LGADC, LCADC, LGPC, LCPC, LMSW, LCSW, LSCW-C)LCPC, LCADC, LCSW-C preferredOne to three years of experience in a behavioral healthcare or substance abuse settings serving culturally diverse populationsKnowledge of case management for dual diagnosis patients.
