Actual compensation, if an offer is made, will depend on factors such as skills, experience, education, and overall qualificationsMercy Flights is hiring for a community Paramedic (MIH)Position SummaryThe Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) Paramedic works as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide proactive, post-hospital, and community-based care in non-traditional settings. This role focuses on continuity of care through in-home visits, patient assessments, clinical and social screenings, patient education, and coordination with healthcare and community partners. The MIH Paramedic functions independently while collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, behavioral health providers, and community agencies to improve patient outcomes and reduce unnecessary emergency department utilization.Work Environment & ScheduleNon-traditional care settings including patient homes and community locationsShift work includes seven 12-hour shifts in a two-week periodRequired QualificationsEducationAssociate degree in Paramedicine or equivalent education required for Oregon Paramedic licensureBachelor's degree in health, human services, or related field preferredExperienceMinimum of two (2) years as a Paramedic/EMT-Intermediate on a 911 transporting ambulance or equivalent community health experienceBehavioral or mental health experience preferredLicenses & CertificationsValid Oregon Paramedic License or/ EMT-Intermediate License and National Registry Paramedic certificationValid Oregon Driver's LicenseBLS, ACLS, and PALS or PEPP certifications requiredCommunity Health Worker (CHW) certification required within 12 months of hireCommunity Paramedic (CP-C) certification preferred Key ResponsibilitiesProvide high-quality patient care in accordance with clinical guidelines, protocols, and standards of careConduct in-home assessments, proactive and post-discharge follow-up visits, and specialty MIH visitsRespond as part of the Mobile Crisis Response team for behavioral health and crisis-related callsPerform clinical interventions including point-of-care testing, EKG interpretation, wound care, medication reviews, and home safety assessmentsDeliver patient and family education related to chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, CHF, COPD, hypertension, fall risk)Coordinate care with physicians, hospitals, allied health providers, and community resourcesProvide both Basic and Advanced Life Support within scope of practiceServe as ALS backup on emergent and non-emergent 911 ambulance calls as neededMaintain accurate, timely electronic documentation and patient care reports in compliance with Oregon lawUtilize telehealth and technology platforms for physician consultation and longitudinal patient monitoringMake sure to apply with all the requested information, as laid out in the job overview below.How to apply: Apply online at: To ensure consideration, a completed resume and Mercy Flights application must be received.
