Job ResponsibilitiesRead the overview of this opportunity to understand what skills, including and relevant soft skills and software package proficiencies, are required.Provide basic patient care, including assisting with activities of daily living and attending to patients' personal needs to ensure comfort and dignityAssist patients with eating and hydration by opening containers, cutting food, or feeding patients as directed by the registered nurse (RN)Measure and accurately record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiratory rate, along with patient weight and intake/output documentationEnsure a positive patient experience by maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment; perform patient rounding according to established standardsCommunicate regularly and effectively with nursing staff regarding changes or observations in patient condition following unit protocolsPerform clerical and administrative duties of the unit secretary when assigned, including answering phones, scheduling, and maintaining recordsFollow organizational and departmental ergonomic and safety principles to prevent injury and maintain a safe working environment during all activitiesAssist with patient mobility and positioning as needed to promote comfort and prevent complications such as pressure ulcersSupport infection control procedures by following appropriate hygiene practices and ensuring equipment and patient areas are cleanDocument all patient care activities and observations accurately and timely in patient records as per unit guidelinesRespond promptly and appropriately to patient requests and needs, escalating concerns to nursing staff or supervisors as necessaryPerform other related duties as assigned to support the unit's efficient and effective operationPosition QualificationPreferred:High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.Completion of a Nurse's Aide programPrevious hospital or health care experience.License/CertificationPreferred:Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).Work EnvironmentWork is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients.
