*Job Description:*The information below covers the role requirements, expected candidate experience, and accompanying qualifications.The Core Analysis Process System (CAPS) Project is looking to hire a software developer with a passion for developing and implementing complex software solutions for scientific and engineering problems on high performance supercomputing systems. The project works directly with our engineers to provide common software engineering solutions for the reactor design community, applicable to all naval nuclear core designs. The project is focused on the ability to provide robust, user friendly, automated tools to evaluate thermal hydraulic and reactor performance design conditions. Depending on the background of the individual, near-term work assignments may include designing, developing, testing, verifying, and maintaining engineering software or porting engineering software to modern computing architectures. Work will be largely focused on problem solving; software systems architecture, scientific programming; and requirements gathering across application developers, engineering users, and system administrator groups.
