Top Global Tech Company Seeking Design systems designer for high visibility foundational teamFully remote in the USOverviewThis role focuses on shaping the visual and functional design language for next-generation wearable products through robust design system development. The individual will contribute to the creation, maintenance, and evolution of reusable components and patterns, primarily in Figma, and support cross-functional teams in applying these systems across devices such as smart glasses and watches. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, process-driven, and thrives in fast-paced environments with minimal hierarchy.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and distribute a comprehensive Figma component libraryCreate and revise component files with detailed design specificationsAuthor and update documentation for design system usageSupport product designers in exploring component variants and templatesMaintain templates for key product screens and flowsFacilitate task tracking and handoff processes between design and engineeringTroubleshoot design file issues including layer structure and organizationProvide guidance in feedback forums and design reviewsConduct design audits across platforms (iOS, Android, Web)Required Qualifications5+ years of relevant design experienceProven expertise in design system development and stewardshipAdvanced proficiency in FigmaStrong attention to detail and process orientationExperience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)Familiarity with file management/versioning tools (Dropbox, Google Drive, GitHub)Experience training others and scaling design knowledge across teamsProficiency in Apple Keynote and Google SlidesExperience designing for native platforms (iOS, Android, macOS, Windows) and web (mobile and desktop)Basic understanding of HTML/CSSPreferred QualificationsDemonstrated prototyping skillsPrior experience building and scaling a design systemStrong communication and presentation skills to gain consensusAbility to advocate for design systems and foster cross-functional partnershipsEmployee Value PropositionThis is a unique opportunity to help define the design system for future hardware products, making a lasting impact on how wearable technology is experienced.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
