This Department is responsible for the full spectrum of warhead, fuzing, and propulsion designs/technology, including power systems, ignition, and all other weapon initiation safety systems technology. The department is seeking to hire a Principal Engineer - One Shots.What you will do:Apply and/or develop advanced one shot devices technologies using scientific principles, theories and concepts implementation into productsProvide technical oversight to various subcontractorsManage subcontract suppliers to specify and deliver required subsystem components on schedule and on budgetFrequently interface with the customer to identify user needsTechnical oversight of our power source batteries development programsYou will ensure two-way communication management; serve as the day-to-day liaison to the programs concerning resource technical assignmentsContribute to technology development roadmapsSupport failure analysis and corrective action through redesign of failed one shot device components or systemsPresent one shot device design models and supporting analyses/test results to internal and customer review meetingsSupport proposals requiring one shots technologiesSupport development of Critical Item Development Specifications (CIDS)Oversee fact-finding and contract negotiationsTest data reductionEnsure technical rigor and depth of all deliverablesMust be willing to travel to suppliers and government facilitiesTechnical management of subcontracts on Government programsProposal and cost preparation, requirements definition, and one shot device subsystems analysis, test and verification; operational test support; supplier collaborationThe Principal Engineer – One Shots job is in Tucson, AZ and the position is onsite.Qualifications You Must Have:Typically requires a Bachelor in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 12+ years of experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience.Experience in development of solid propulsion systems.Qualifications We Prefer:Ten (10) or more years of directly related experience in propulsive technology and its application to solid or liquid, and/or mono propellant propulsion systemsSystems knowledge to assure full development of propulsion requirements and dissemination and flow down to subcomponent levelsProject engineering skills and experience using Earned Value Management SystemDemonstrated success as a proposal/cost account manager as well as project/team leaderDemonstrated ability to develop and lead collaborative efforts with other technical disciplines including structural, thermal, aerodynamics and low observablesWillingness to travel, including internationally, to provide supplier supportSupplier collaboration experience and oversight generating specifications and statements of work (SOW)Working knowledge or experience with either missile design or development, production support and integrationExperience with DoD customers and/or associated contractor executives and technical leadershipWhat We Offer:Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
