This role oversees both underground and aerial fiber construction, managing internal crews and multiple subcontractor teams while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.Key ResponsibilitiesField & Crew OversightSupervise 1 internal crew along with 3–4 subcontractor teams (typically 3–5 teams total)Coordinate daily activities for underground trenching and aerial fiber installationOversee subcontractors using Vermeer trenchers and bucket trucksPrint & Build ManagementReview and interpret underground and aerial construction printsEnsure work aligns with engineering designs, permits, and build specificationsMonitor construction near:Water linesHigh‑voltage utilitiesLive telecommunications networksSafety & ComplianceEnforce jobsite safety standards with a strong focus on:Working around live fiber networksDig safety, utility locates, and potholingHigh‑voltage and underground hazard awarenessConduct safety meetings, audits, and corrective actions as neededProject ExecutionDrive projects to completion on schedule and under budgetTrack labor, materials, and overall productivityTroubleshoot issues in real time and ensure all punch‑list items are resolvedTake ownership of post‑construction repairs, damages, and quality issuesCommunication & ReportingServe as the main point of contact between:Internal operations teamsSubcontractorsUtility ownersClearly document progress, challenges, and resolutionsIdeal ExperiencePrevious experience supervising fiber construction or telecom infrastructure projectsStrong understanding of FTTH buildsProven ability to manage multiple subcontractors simultaneouslyExperience with both underground and aerial fiber constructionComfortable working in high‑risk environments (utilities, live networks)Strong problem‑solving, accountability, and leadership skillsJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Northville, MI.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
