We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and proactive Part-Time Building Maintenance Handyman to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the warehouse building and its grounds are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This involves performing general maintenance, routine repairs, and miscellaneous "odd jobs" across various trades, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general facility upkeep. Key ResponsibilitiesRoutine Maintenance & RepairsPerform minor repairs to plumbing systems (leaky faucets, clogged drains, running toilets)Address electrical fixtures, including replacing light bulbs, switches, and outletsAssist with HVAC maintenance tasks such as changing filters and basic troubleshootingInspect and repair warehouse doors, dock equipment, and bay hardware General Odd JobsHandle miscellaneous tasks, including assembling furniture, mounting fixtures, fixing doors, hanging blinds, and patching drywallPerform touch-up repairs to walls, ceilings, floors, and other interior surfacesAssist with the setup and breakdown of warehouse workspaces as directed Facility UpkeepPerform interior and exterior painting and touch-ups to maintain building's appearancePower wash exterior surfaces, walkways, and loading dock areas as neededMaintain building grounds, including gutter cleaning, debris removal, and basic landscaping upkeep Inspection & TroubleshootingConduct regular, proactive inspections of facilities to detect issues before they escalateIdentify and report structural, mechanical, or safety concerns to management promptlyMaintain accurate work logs, repair records, and equipment maintenance history Safety ComplianceAdhere to all OSHA safety procedures and building safety standardsMaintain a tidy, organized, and hazard-free work area at all timesFollow all applicable Philadelphia building codes and regulatory requirements Vendor CoordinationReport major repair needs to management and assist in scheduling external specialized contractorsBe present and assist during contractor visits as needed to ensure the quality of work Inventory & SuppliesManage and inventory tools, equipment, and repair suppliesSubmit requests for replacement parts and supplies in a timely manner Required Skills and QualificationsExperience: Proven experience as a Handyman, Maintenance Worker, or in a similar building maintenance roleTechnical Skills: Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and paintingTool Proficiency: Proficient in the safe use of common hand and power tools (drills, saws, wrenches, levels)Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, work on ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in confined spaces or varying weather conditions for outdoor tasksProblem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting abilities to efficiently diagnose and resolve issuesCommunication: Good communication skills; ability to report maintenance status to management and interact professionally with staffReliability: Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently without direct supervisionEducation: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred Pay Incentive: Certifications & LicensesCandidates with active, verifiable professional licenses or certifications are eligible for higher hourly pay.
