Controller Job Description Oversee the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits, and annual budgets Assist management with important financial decisions Oversee the activities of the Procure-to-Pay function Responsible for timely and accurate filing of all Business Taxes, except Partnership Income Tax Returns Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes for close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures Prepare financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts and statements to understand the financial state of business Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls Maximizes return and limits risk on cash by minimizing bank balances and making investments Develops and implements accounting functions, including accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and all supporting ledgers, systems, and records Supervise employees who work under the controller in preparing financial reports Prepares budgets and monitor performance against them by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans Monitor payroll documentation Ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements and maintain the financial integrity of the organization. Other duties as required Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or other related field required License/Certifications CPA strongly preferred Qualifications & Skills The ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management about the finances of the business and justify certain financial recommendations Providing leadership, direction and management of the accounting team Auditing, Accounting & Corporate Finance Developing and Tracking Budget expenses Analyzing Information Good understanding of Restaurant Industry Able to engage with staff at all levels of the organization and exercise sound judgement Organization and project management Experience 10+ Years of financial experience preferred 8 or more years of management experience preferred Experience with a Public Accounting Firm as an experienced Senior Experience with a multi-entity company preferred Experience with a company with revenue size of at least $100 million preferred Software Proficient in the use of Microsoft office, specifically Excel Accounting Software Sage 300 DocLink DocAlpha
