With outdoor activities, a growing downtown, great schools, and a welcoming community, Fort Smith offers a balanced lifestyle for professionals looking to grow personally and professionally.Key Responsibilities – Wound Care in Long-Term CarePerform comprehensive wound assessments, documenting wound size, depth, drainage, tissue type, and healing progressDevelop and implement wound care treatment plans based on physician orders and clinical best practicesCoordinate and conduct wound rounds in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, physicians, and therapy staffApply and monitor specialized wound care treatments including wound vacs, hydrocolloids, alginates, and compression dressingsIdentify and document skin integrity concerns, including pressure injuries, skin tears, and moisture-related damageEducate and support nursing staff on wound prevention protocols, pressure ulcer staging, and proper repositioning techniquesMaintain detailed and timely documentation for regulatory compliance and survey readinessAct as the facility’s go-to expert on wound and skin care, providing training and mentorship to direct care staffMonitor supplies and ensure cost-effective wound care practices without compromising qualityParticipate in quality assurance initiatives related to skin care outcomes and infection controlQualifications:Active and unencumbered LPN or RN license in ArkansasMinimum 1 year of wound care experience in a long-term care, rehab, or skilled nursing facilityStrong understanding of wound types, stages, treatment modalities, and documentation standardsCertification in wound care (WCC, WOCN) is preferred or must be willing to pursueStrong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skillsWhy Join Covington Court?At Covington Court Health and Rehab, we prioritize clinical excellence, teamwork, and compassionate care.
