*GPM Job Opportunity Summary*GPM is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating CNC machines to fabricate precision parts according to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. The CNC Machinist will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our production processes.The Machinist position is a full-time position responsible for setup, programming, operation, and preventative maintenance of multiple CNC and manual pieces of machining equipment at GPM’s Duluth, MN location while ensuring accuracy and timeliness to all job functions. The ideal candidate for this position needs to have completed a 2-year program in machine tool technology. The ideal candidate should also have 2-years of on-the-job machining experience on CNC mills and/or lathes. Manual machining experience is a bonus. This individual needs to be a detail-oriented self-starter that can work in an industrial environment in both a team and solo settings.*Qualifications –*The ideal candidate for the position shall have:* · Post-secondary schooling in machine tool technology and 2 years machining experience.· Ability to MDI program Fanuc controlled CNC machines for non-complex, tight tolerance parts* Mazatrol experience not required, but beneficial* Critical thinking and problem-solving skills* Experience in drill sharpening, broaching, and keyway cutting.* Physically able to adjust, tighten, and secure large materials into machines* Experience in forklift operation and overhead crane lifting and rigging is preferred* Conscious of safety protocols always* Unquestioned moral and ethical behavior*Responsibilities –** Perform daily preventative maintenance and cleaning of machines used and perform minor maintenance and repairs when needed.* Always maintain a clean and safe working environment.* Ability to multitask with limited supervision in a solo setting as well as being able to work with and communicate well in a group setting.* Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce waste, cut costs and improve productivity.* Perform various other non-conventional Machinist duties.
