*Job Summary*Looking to work only a few hours each day but make a BIG difference in the lives of some great kids? Clover Christian School needs a bus driver! Part-time, split shift, 5 days per week. Drive the beautiful countryside in the SW Magic Valley. Interact with polite, friendly kids and their awesome parents. Come be part of a great tradition!We seek a dedicated and responsible person with one or at least a partial year of experience to transport kids to and from our school. We will naturally expect you to follow the Idaho State Bus Driver Manual, adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations, and to use your training to make safe stops at all locations on the route.Since we teach and require good behavior of our students, we will need you to manage them while they are on the bus. You will be fully supported by our Administrator and teachers. Therefore, in addition to experience driving a school bus, a background in childcare, or at least having your own children, is a big help!In addition to the daily route, which takes about 15 hours a week, the driver may be asked to transport some of the students on infrequent field trips as well. Our bus driver is expected to maintain the cleanliness of the bus, and keep it in good working order through required pre-trip and post-trip checks. The driver needs to hold a valid CDL with passenger endorsement and a current DOT medical card.*Responsibilities** Safely operate a bus following established route and schedules.* Educate passengers on safety procedures and regulations.* Report to the school administrator any incidents or issues encountered during transit.* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure mechanical integrity.* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bus interior and exterior.* Manage student behavior effectively while on the bus, ensuring a safe environment for all.* Assist children with boarding and disembarking as needed, particularly for younger passengers, those with special needs, or those who may have to cross a street.*Skills** Basic mechanical knowledge to identify basic vehicle issues and know whether or not to drive it and to inform the school that a repair is needed.* Previous experience in school bus driving is preferred.* Ability to manage behavior in a group setting, especially with children, to ensure compliance with safety protocols.* A background in childcare or as a parent or grandparent will be helpful.Join our team as a Bus Driver where you can make a significant impact on the safety and well-being of our community's youth!Job Type: Part-timePay: $16.00 per hourExpected hours: 15 – 17 per weekWork Location: In person
