_*General Summary*_A nursing faculty member is expected to be committed to the institution and work to support the Mission of the institution. They should be focused on Students and supporting them to reach their career goal.The faculty member has accountability for facilitating implementation of the course on a day-today basis and is responsible for efficient utilization of resources in classrooms, lab, and clinical sites. The Adjunct Instructor may be responsible for reaching online didactic and/or lab courses, or may need to travel to the student's clinical site._*Reporting*_Full-time nursing faculty report directly to the Dean of Nursing._*Principle Duties and Responsibilities*_1. Follow the approved course syllabus to deliver course content and/or objectives according to method of instruction provided by the University.2. Evaluates the student’s experience, progress in relation to the course objectives/outcomes, and achievement with input from additional faculty, lab personnel, and/or preceptor, if utilized.3. Has authority and responsibility for the development and implementation of student evaluation methods and tolls.4. Grade all assessments, record grades, and provide student feedback.5. Respond to inquiries and communications from students via ANU e-mail and Canvas messaging in a timely manner.6. Competently utilize Canvas, the virtual library, synchronous video delivery tools, and other University resources to deliver courses following University approved syllabi.7. Follow all ANU policies related to the modality in which they are teaching.8. Complete an annual professional development plan that includes at least 2 professional development activities and 2 in-service activities. Provide documentation of completed plan.9. Coordinate with the dean of nursing on developing/redeveloping nursing courses as needed10. Attendance at faculty meetings is mandatory._*Clinical Instructors*_Clinical faculty will supervise a maximum of 10 students in a group at the clinical facility, or the maximum number of students permitted at the institution (not to exceed 10 students).* Provide evidence of periodic tuberculin testing, immunizations, BLS certification, background check, and drug screening as required by nursing program policy.* Attend ANU nursing clinical orientation session and faculty meetings as required by the dean of nursing.* Complete all required agency training pertaining to medication administration, HIPAA, electronic health records, and unit orientation.* Collaborate with nursing course instructor and course coordinator as necessary to facilitate students with achieving clinical objectives.* Manage appropriately delicate student situations through effective communication and negotiation with faculty, students, and facility staff regarding problems in the clinical setting._*Education and Experience*_Credentials and experience are reviewed on an individual basis before making teaching assignments.* Nursing Faculty shall hold a masters degree with a major in nursing for clinical instructor assignments;* Nursing faculty will have a minimum of two years of direct client care experience as a registered nurse;* All faculty will hold an unencumbered current license, multi-state license, or temporary license to practice as a registered nurse in the state where the campus is located;_*A full-time faculty teaching load*_A full-time faculty member may teach from 5 classes per term._*Evaluation*_The End of Course Surveys and Instructor Evaluations contain evaluative criteria applicable to this position. Other reports may be used as necessary to contribute to that evaluation.
