*Title: Hybrid Seed Breeding Technician I**Department: Global Breeding**Reports To: Hybrid Seed Oxnard Supervisor**Location: Oxnard, CA**Classification: Seasonal based on Operational need**Hourly Pay Range: 18.00 to 20.70**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY* *-Job Summary*The Hybrid Seed Breeding Technician I position will perform specific duties to ensure the overall success of our Raspberry Hybrid Seed Breeding Operations in Oxnard, California*. *Daily duties will consist of general entry-level activities across hybrid material grown onsite. There is a strong emphasis on productivity, attention to detail, employee safety on all duties performed, reliability, with a good attitude as well as working well with others.*JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:*Execute daily tasks like, but not limited to, pollination, seed extraction, sowing, transplanting, tray filling, packing, harvesting, pruning, grafting and general cleaning of plant materials.Ensures the safe keeping of proprietary varieties and confidential information.Follow company policies and practices while representing Driscoll’s in an ethical and business - like manner in all interactions with employees, government agencies, growers, etc.Executed responsibilities with productivity and safety in mind following the established standardized procedures.Performs other duties as assigned by local Leadership Team.*CANDIDATE PROFILE: Requirements*· High School diploma or equivalent· Agricultural practices· Hands-on experience in plant breeding, horticulture is desirable..Basic knowledge of reading, writing and arithmetic required.· Spanish not required but a plus*Preferred Qualifications:** Previous work experience in similar field desired.* Ability to work independently and in a team environment with multiple areas within the Oxnard location.* Candidate must be reliable, disciplined, detail oriented and self-motivated.* Ability to communicate effectively in English desired.* Many duties require manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks.* Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds on intermittent bases and possess the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.* Must be able to work extended hours as needed based on operational needs.* Must be able to work in field settings and/or greenhouse.* Proven ability to demonstrate the following competencies in the workplace: _collaborates and drives for results._* Proven ability to demonstrate our company values in action in the workplace: Passion, Humility and Trustworthiness.*Leadership Competencies: *· Drives Results: Pursues everything with energy, resourcefulness, and the need to achieve desired outcomes.· Courage: Tackles difficult issues timely with optimism and transparency.*ABOUT DRISCOLL’S:*Driscoll’s is the global market leader for fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries.
