Human Resource RepresentativeLocation: Norfolk, VAPay Rate: $29.73/hrPosition OverviewHRU is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Human Resource Representative to join our team in Norfolk, VA. The ideal candidate will support a wide range of HR functions, ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws, and foster a positive, inclusive workplace. This role requires strong HR knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with employees and management at all levels.Key ResponsibilitiesHR AdministrationMaintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and files.Process employee data, including new hires, terminations, and benefits updates.Assist with HR projects and initiatives as needed.Benefits AdministrationSupport benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.Communicate benefits information to employees and respond to benefits-related inquiries.Communication and TrainingCommunicate HR policies, procedures, and updates to employees and management.Employee RelationsProvide guidance on company policies, procedures, and benefits.Investigate and resolve employee concerns fairly and promptly.Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that enhances employee engagement and retention.Recruitment and HiringAssist with recruitment, including job postings, interviews, and candidate selection.Coordinate with hiring managers to ensure compliance with hiring policies.Compliance and Risk ManagementEnsure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.Skills & QualificationsExcellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.Strong analytical, organizational, and confidential handling skills.Proficiency in HR software and systems, including HRIS and benefits platforms.Experience Required23 years of experience in human resources or a related field.EducationBachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.Why HRU?HRU is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
