If you’d like to make a positive difference in the lives of young learners and flourish as an educator apply today.*Responsibilities** Develop and implement weekly lesson plans with daily activities and exercises; follow age-appropriate curriculum guidelines (PA Early Learning Standards)* Planning curriculum targeting areas related to child development such as social, motor and language skills* Creating schedules and routines, ensuring children have a proper balance of rest and physical activities* Working with children one-on-one and in groups, supervising activities, keeping students on task* Serving snacks and using meals as a way to incorporate learning, especially social skills* Introducing students to concepts that are to be explored further in kindergarten, such as early literacy experiences* Developing language skills by reading to students and encouraging discussion through storytelling activities* Updating parents on their child’s progress with daily recordkeeping and documentation of behavior issues* Helping students interact and adapt socially through activities that promote group engagement and fairness, such as group experiences for music and parallel play for choosing activities*Requirements*It takes special skills and personality traits to succeed as a Preschool Teacher. Desirable traits include:* Respect for diversity* Excellent listening skills* Excellent communication skills* Positive reinforcement practices* Patience and understanding* Must have a compassionate and positive attitude.* Tolerance for different learning abilities* Nurturing teaching approach*Additional Requirements:** Solid understanding of the principles of child development and educational methods* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field.* Valid license to practice profession* 1+ years’ experience in the education field* Physical/TB Test, Department of Human Services Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Request for Criminal Records Check, Federal Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) are required.* Certification in child CPR* Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms* Lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors and outdoors.
