This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that store layouts enhance the overall customer and associate in-store experience—ultimately driving sales.Working closely with Store Planning Managers, Designers, and Construction teams, the Senior Store Planner makes design and layout decisions to meet site-specific requirements, budget guidelines, and company standards.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and Develop: Create detailed fixture and architectural drawings that meet client design and operational standards for new and remodeled retail locations.Plan and Coordinate: Analyze site data and make design/layout recommendations to optimize store flow, support areas, and adjacencies.Collaborate: Partner with Store Planning Management, Design, Construction, and Operations teams to deliver store layouts that meet aesthetic, functional, and budgetary needs.Ensure Accuracy: Troubleshoot site-specific challenges during design and construction, developing creative solutions to keep projects on track.Leadership: Assign and guide work for Store Planners and outside consultants, ensuring adherence to chain-specific prototypes and planning guidelines.Documentation: Manage the timely distribution and archiving of drawings and project data to meet construction and real estate schedules.Training Support: Assist Store Planning Management in providing technical guidance and training to Store Planners and consultants.Special Projects: Contribute to unique planning initiatives and non-standard store layouts as assigned.Required Experience8+ years of relevant experience in store planning, retail design, interior design, or architecture.Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD (required) and Revit (preferred) for retail or architectural layout design.Strong understanding of retail store operations, construction procedures, and related building codes.Required EducationAssociate’s Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering Technology, or Interior Design (Bachelor’s preferred).Equivalent certifications or professional design training considered.Required SkillsAutoCAD/AutoCAD Architecture proficiency (required)Revit software proficiency (preferred)Retail store layout and fixture planning expertiseProblem-solving and analytical thinkingTime management and multitasking in fast-paced settingsPreferred SkillsKnowledge of building codes and retail construction processesTeam leadership and mentoring experienceExcellent communication and collaboration across multiple departmentsAdditional SkillsStrong understanding of construction timelines and budgetsFlexibility to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyProficiency in troubleshooting site-specific challengesBenefitsMedical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans401(k) Retirement FundAbout the ClientA Fortune 500 off-price apparel and home retailer, and the world’s leading off-price fashion and home goods company.
