We pride ourselves in the ability to hold tight tolerances on the work we do and that is something we work hard on to keep offering our customers.*Qualifications/Skills:*· Surface Grinding experience is required (5+ years) This is not an entry level position.· Ability to read blueprints, understand shop math, and the ability to use measuring tools like calipers and micrometers.*Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:*· Have the ability to hold tight tolerances of +/- .0001.· Work independently.· Work from verbal instructions.· Work in a versatile environment.· Communicates and work with management, engineers and quality personnel to resolve machining or quality issues.· Balance, dress and mount wheel in machine.· Select proper speeds and feeds according to type and size of material.· Set-up and operate machines such as surface grinders to fabricate metal parts· Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations· Perform precision measurements using tools such as micrometers, and calipers· Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards· Make adjustments to machine settings to ensure proper performance· Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve production issues· Maintain a clean and organized work area· Experience in machining and operating various types of manual surface grinding machinery· Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise measurements*Please note: This is not a CNC Machinist Position and this is not an entry level position, you must have a min of 5 plus years experience running a surface grinding machines for this job.**Benefits include:** 100% Company paid medical, dental, and vision for employee and family* 401k with 5% company contribution, plus profit share contribution* 100% company paid STD, LTD and AD&D with the option to purchase additional coverage* Flexible schedule* Competitive pay* No nights, 5-day work week* Overtime usually available* Tuition reimbursement and training opportunities* Annual rate increase and merit increases pending individuals work ethics* Annual year-end bonus* and moreJob Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hourPeople with a criminal record are encouraged to applyExperience:* Toolmaker: 5 years (Required)* Brown & Sharp: 5 years (Required)* Surface Grinding: 5 years (Required)* Job Shop/Manufacturing: 5 years (Required)* GD&T: 5 years (Required)Ability to Commute:* Berlin, CT 06037 (Required)Work Location: In person
