Denver Metro Protective Services / Aquila Protective Services is currently expanding our *Inmate Transport Division*. Graduates from a Police Academy or similar Military Police Academy are highly desired, or those who have previous law enforcement / corrections experience. Come work as an important part of the _Public Safety Industry a_s an Armed Transport Specialist Officer for Denver Metro Protective Services / Aquila Protective Services.*Our expectations of you** High School Diploma or equivalent* POST Certification corrections experience, or specific Military Police Training (MOS) highly desired,* Must be able to complete background screening required to work in a correctional setting.* Must reside within the Alamosa or Buena Vista / Chaffee County areas.* _Must have a __*current and valid*_ _Colorado driver's license with no more than 5 points on your driving record._* _*We are currently seeking candidates only for day shifts (shifts vary slightly each day based on the needs of the transport schedule, however, are typically in the 0500-1700 range. Flexibility is a must for this position, as a result). Shifts are typically Monday through Friday, but may vary based on overall facility needs .*_Position starts at $26.00 per hour for Transport Specialist I (unarmed) and $27.00 per hour for Transport Specialist II (armed), which is accomplished once completing the DOC firearms training process. We desire candidates who know and understand what "five star customer service" is and how to practice it to ensure the customer is taken care of. Being customer service oriented among others is focused on being alert and aware throughout the shift and answering community members questions while being polite, respectful and considerate.*Duties of the position** Work closely within CDOC policies related to the secure transportation of inmates to various appointments throughout the state* Safely drive company vehicles, following all protocols related to secure transports* Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic* Required to stay current with all training and certifications* Always have a mindset of safety* Strong grasp of appropriate and professional verbal and written communication.*Benefits for working with us** We provide all uniforms* Medical - Health, Vision, Dental* 401k (with Company Matching)* Direct Deposit Weekly Pay* Supplemental Insurances (Life, short term disability, hospital and accident etc)* Abundance advancement opportunities*Additional information** Form armed positions, Specialists must possess their own firearm, full size in 9 mil. or 40 caliber and a Retention 3 holster or above* Must have a valid and clear drivers license* Security License Required (we can assist with if needed)* Must be mentally alert and capable of making decision in accordance with rules, regulations and policies of the location at which they are working, as well as that of the company* Must be able to observe behaviors, record and report details thoroughly and accurately according to the requirements of the job* Must be able to remain in a standing or sitting position for extended periods of time and be able to travel on foot across rough, uneven surfaces* Must be computer literate, able to read, interpret, and implement written instructions/Post Orders, understand and follow oral instructions, and act in accordance with specialized training and requirements.* Must be physically capable of performing foot patrols as may be necessary and remaining vigilant and active while on duty* Must maintain a level of physical fitness necessary to climb stairs and lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds* Must be fluent in English and able to communicate with the general public in a face-to-face setting by telephone/smartphone.Thank you for your interest in working with us!
