Line Cooks prepare and direct the food prep to be served, comply with all applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards and follow established food production programs and procedures while ensuring the appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste and fraud. Line Cooks receive FREE movies tickets & flexible schedules!* As a Showcase Cinemas employee, you are required to work during our peak business times (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays, etc.) and you will generally be required to be available during these periods.*Summary/Objective*Prepare and direct the preparation of food to be served, comply with all applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards and follow established food production programs and procedures while ensuring the appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste and fraud.* Must adhere to defined cleaning and safety protocols including wearing assigned PPE, properly utilizing tools for the health and safety of themselves and others;* Determine amount and type of food and supplies required using production systems;* Ensure availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation;* Observe proper food preparation and handling techniques;* Store food properly and safely, marking the date and item;* Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor;* Prepare all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders;* Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved;* Apportion food for serving;* Maintain daily production records;* Complete food temperature checks before service;* Maintain proper stock level of kitchen items;* Perform the daily and nightly cleaning of kitchen equipment in accordance with opening and closing procedures;* Operate equipment, i.e. deep fryer, flat top grills, pizza ovens, dough mixers etc;* Communicate promptly to management any concerns affecting the kitchen’s operation;* Work varied hours/days as business dictates; and* Stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours.*Position Type/Expected Hours of Work*This is a part-time position, and hours of work vary Monday through Sunday with required availability on the weekend.Job Type: Part-timePay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hourBenefits:* 401(k)* Employee discount* Health insuranceWork Location: In person
