*Container Design and Bottle Inspection Engineer**Location:* Smyrna, GA – On-site*Employment Type:* Permanent/ Hourly*SUMMARY*The *Container Design and Bottle Inspection Engineer* is responsible for conducting comprehensive inspections of bottles and developing accurate, detailed 2D and 3D design drawings. This role involves using CAD software to design and evaluate container structures, perform testing and analysis, manage project data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design quality and manufacturability.*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESBottle Inspection (Approx. 50%)** Perform destructive and non-destructive testing on sample containers, including compression force, vacuum, and drop impact tests.* Conduct dimensional measurements using manual and automated equipment.* Measure overflow capacity, fill point, fill capacity, and wall thickness.* Prepare and analyze inspection reports using statistical tools such as Cpk levels.*3D CAD Modeling and Design** Create detailed 3D virtual models using *PTC CREO* (surface and solid modeling).* Modify existing models and evaluate imported CAD data from other software.* Design preliminary preforms, calculate capacity and thickness, estimate cycle times, and adapt existing models as needed.* Utilize *SolidWorks* to evaluate customer-supplied 3D data.*2D CAD Drawing** Prepare detailed and reference drawings for customer approval.* Provide comprehensive manufacturing requirements and modify existing drawings based on revisions or customer feedback.*Technical Documentation & Study** Develop proposal sheets, design history records, feasibility studies, and project scopes.* Assess designs for feasibility, estimate cycle times and mold cavitation, and evaluate special machine/mold requirements.* Coordinate with factories in Japan and India for technical confirmation when necessary.*Data & Project Management** Maintain accurate records of drawings, inspection data, and technical reports in shared drives (Google Drive, cloud systems).* Input and manage project specifications and CRM data per the manager's requirements.* Ensure all technical documentation meets quality standards.*3D Printing & Mockups** Operate and manage 3D printers to create mockup models for design evaluation.* Maintain printer materials and inventory.* Prepare and ship mockup models and sample bottles to customers or subsidiaries.*3D Scanning** Set up and operate 3D scanners for reverse engineering, design validation, and CAD modeling support.*Communication** Collaborate closely with Sales and Mold Design teams.* Communicate directly with customers and factories as required.*REQUIREMENTS / MUSTS**Technical Skills & Experience:** *Must have hands-on experience* in design technology and bottle or container design.* *Proficiency in CAD software* — specifically *SolidWorks* and/or *PTC CREO* — is required.* Demonstrated ability to create and modify detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings.* Experience with 3D printing or scanning technologies is strongly preferred.* Strong understanding of mechanical testing methods and data interpretation.*Education:** *Bachelor’s degree required* (Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechanical Design, or related field).* May consider candidates with *strong equivalent experience* in lieu of a degree.*Personal Attributes / Culture Fit:** Must be *detail-oriented*, *accurate*, and committed to producing quality work.* *Timely, coachable, and accountable* — follows through on tasks with minimal supervision.* Strong *verbal and written communication skills.** *Passion for design* and continuous improvement.* Able to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while maintaining precision.Job Type: Full-timePay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Employee assistance program* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Retirement plan* Vision insuranceApplication Question(s):* Do you have experience with CREO?* Do you have experience with SolidWorks?Ability to Commute:* Smyrna, GA 30082 (Required)Work Location: In person
