To establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.*1. Always supervise children.2. Follow security procedures for safety measures to maintain a safe environment in the classroom and playground.3. Practice emergency drills with children and the teaching team to respond to any emergency.4. Report accidents, thefts, and other unusual occurrences or incidents immediately to the Site Managers or Program Director.5. Maintain Community Care Licensing (CCL) standards and regulations."6. Perform daily health checks for all the children in the classroom and outdoors.7. Check on sleeping children every 15 minutes.8. Follow the classroom daily schedule.9. Practice good communication skills.10. Have knowledge of activities that are developmentally appropriate for the specific age group. Be flexible with daily routines and schedules to capture “nurturing and teachable moments.”11. Support the Teaching Team using Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) lenses.12. Create and maintain a classroom environment that is inclusive, supportive, and engaging for all children.*B. To advance physical and intellectual competence.*1. Foster positive interactions and relationships between teachers and children in the classroom.2. Collaborate with the Teaching Team to design lessons and activities that are (A) suitable for children's developmental levels (B) enhancing responsive and relationship-based learning, (C) engaging and innovative.3. Establish an environment that reflects the children's interests.4. Conduct circle time sessions.5. Use a variety of educational techniques, such as storytelling, educational play, and media, during group time and small group, to effectively teach children.6. Provide suggestions for field trips.*C. To support social and emotional development and provide positive guidance.*1. Use excellent communication and instructional skills when working with both the teaching team and the children.2. Use age-appropriate, positive guidance techniques and models behavior for children.3. Guide children to develop and improve their social-emotional skills to resolve conflicts.4. Understand children’s learning styles.5. Work with teachers on appropriate developmental expectations for the age group.6. Provide documentation for inclusion children.7. Create strategies that consider the nine-temperament traits.8. Use a strength-based approach to support parent engagement.9. Use Positive Descriptive Acknowledgement (PDA) as guidance to model behavior for children.*D. To establish positive and productive relationships with families.*1. Greet parents and children during drop-off and pick-up.2. Build positive relationships with parents/guardians and respect their cultural differences.3. Respect family confidentiality and avoid discussing children in front of others.4. Communicate with parents daily about their children and highlight a joyful event from the day.5. Conduct Parent/Teacher conferences.6. Encourage parents/guardians to participate in the program.*E. To ensure a well-run, purposeful program responsive to participant needs.*1. Ensure classroom supplies and materials required for the curriculum are maintained and available in advance of the planned activities.2. Prepare and implement Lesson Plans with activities that are age-appropriate, individualized, and promote anti-bias learning.3. Ensure the classroom environment reflects our cultural diversity of children and families.4. Meet the timeline in completing lesson plans, DRDP, ASQs, and other paperwork or deliverables.5. Submit documentation of children as needed to the Site Managers or Program Director.6. Demonstrate effective productivity and cooperation while communicating well with other staff and parents.7. Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings, general sessions, in-service sessions, training, webinars, and workshops as required.8. Attend administration meetings (if requested).9. Use the California Preschool Learning Foundations, the CDE’s California Preschool Curriculum Framework, the CDE’s Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP), and the Ages and Stages Development (ASQ) as a resource for curriculum planning.10. Use the Infant/Toddler learning and development foundations, the CDE’s Infant/Toddler Learning and /development Program Guidelines, the CDE’s Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP), and the Program for Infant/Toddler Care as a resource for curriculum planning.11. Understand the concept of Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) and the CLASS Environment.12. Follow California Department of Education (CDE), Nutrition Service Division (NSD), Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) requirements and regulations.13. Ensure that the children are correctly signed in/out on The Learning Genie during drop-off and pick -up time.14. Work productively and cooperatively as well as communicating with other staff and parents.15. Attend IEP meetings (individualized education programs) for a child with special need and/or disabilities.16. Be a positive role model for all Teaching Staff, families, and children.17. Be flexible with daily routines and schedules to capture “nurturing and teachable moments.”18. Work with the Teaching Team to understand appropriate developmental expectations of the age group in the classroom.19. Enhance your observational skills through consistent practice.20. Depending on our agency’s evolving needs, M.C.C.C. may require the employee to teach and care for both toddlers and preschoolers on a temporary or permanent basis.*F. To maintain professional demeanor at all times.*1. Promote the agency’s philosophy and objectives.2. Pursue higher education in accordance with the state guidelines for early childhood education (ECE) teachers.3. Arrive on time for scheduled work and maintain good attendance.4. Remain flexible regarding staffing schedule.5. Work collaboratively and cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors, and other professionals.6. Must submit requests for educational supplies and materials in writing to either Site Manager or Program Director.7. Maintain confidentiality on all matters concerning the children, parents, and other staff members.8. Obtain and keep current or upgrades appropriate permits to a Teacher, Master Teacher, or Site Supervisor.9. Practice time management and organization skills.10. Additional responsibilities may be assigned to support the Site Managers and Program Director or as directed by the Executive Director.*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*1. Able to lift fifty (50) pounds.2. Ability to go up and down stairs with no limitation.3. Must be in good health and able to pass a physical exam.4. Demonstrate the ability to meet required state, federal, local and M.C.C.C. standards (including, but not limited to, fingerprinting clearance, negative TB test, and First Aid/CPR).*SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS*1. Must hold an Associate Teacher Permit issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing, State of California.2. Knowledgeable and experienced in the field of Early Childhood Education.3. Understand the concepts of early childhood development.4.
