CNC MachinistDepartment: Manufacturing / ProductionReports To: Production Supervisor or Machine Shop LeadPosition SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and reliable CNC Machinist with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience operating CNC mills and/or lathes in a precision manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and inspecting parts to ensure they meet engineering and quality specifications. This role is suited for a detail-oriented individual who takes pride in producing high-quality, precision components in a high-mix, low-volume production environment.Key Responsibilities· Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes according to blueprints, work instructions, and setup sheets.· Load programs and make minor edits to offsets, tool paths, and speeds/feeds as necessary.· Verify part dimensions using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.· Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and process documentation.· Perform first-article inspections and in-process checks to ensure quality conformance.· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.· Troubleshoot machining or tooling issues and communicate improvement opportunities to supervision or engineering.· Perform basic preventive maintenance on machines and tooling.· Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality goals.Qualifications· Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience on mills and/or lathes (Haas, Okuma, or similar controls).· Strong understanding of machining principles, feeds/speeds, and tool selection.· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work on complex drawings with minimal supervision.· Proficient with precision measuring tools and quality inspection methods.· Experience working in high-mix, low-volume or prototype environments preferred.· Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.· Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.Preferred Skills· Experience with CNC programming or editing G-code.· Familiarity with Gibbs CAM Fusion 360, or other CAM software.· Experience with 5-axis or multi-spindle equipment.· Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.Schedule and CompensationFull-time, Monday through Friday (some overtime may be required).Competitive hourly rate based on experience.Comprehensive benefits package available (medical, 401(k), paid time off, etc.).Job Type: Full-timeExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:* 401(k)* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceAbility to Commute:* Altoona, PA 16602 (Required)Ability to Relocate:* Altoona, PA 16602: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
