The Cook’s responsibilities involve all facets of kitchen operations including ordering, preparing, serving, cleaning, receiving, inspecting and rejecting orders, and the monitoring of all kitchen equipment. The Cook is required to have on-call duties to cover for the Manager of Food Service.Summary: The cook prepares and serves family style meals in a friendly, professional manner to residents at Assisted Living in Burlington, VT. The Cook’s responsibilities involve all aspects of kitchen operations including preparing and serving meals, receiving, inspecting, and rejecting food and supply orders, cleaning the kitchen, menu planning contribution and the monitoring of all kitchen equipment.”Qualifications: Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent. Must be able to read and follow instructions, recipes and resident information as well as perform basic math. Flexibility in work schedule, weekend/ holiday availability is necessary. Must possess good interpersonal communication skills and be able to relate to a wide variety of people. Prior experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities is preferred.
