As a Correctional Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining safety and security within the Ashland County Jail.*Responsibilities:*- Supervise and monitor inmates within the facility- Enforce rules and policies to ensure order and discipline- Conduct regular cell inspections- Respond to emergencies and incidents- Escort inmates to various locations- Document all activities, incidents, and observations accurately*Requirements:*- Certificate in Law Enforcement or related field is a plus, but not required.- Proficiency in conflict management techniques- Strong report writing skills for documentation purposes- Ability administer medication_Training will be provided in all above listed areas._*Additional Requirements:*- Valid Drivers License- No felony convictions- Must pass drug screen, pre-employment physical, and criminal background check- Availability to work weekends and holidays*Scheduling: *Full time employees will work 12 hour shifts. Work schedule will reflect 7 days scheduled in a two week pay period to include a 3 day weekend off biweekly.*Pay: *Initial pay during the three month training period is $19.87/hour.
