*Hope & Home Childcare Program Staff**Description:*This position is a childcare program staff position that works directly with the kids of Hope & Home to provide a safe, fun and interactive environment, while their parents or caregivers attend Support Group. Children in foster care need consistency and this position is a wonderful way to help kids while learning more about the diverse and ever-changing world of foster care. We often say that “the difference is making a child feel truly special” and this role does just that!*Location: *_Varies for each group – one group in Delta, one group in Montrose. _*Salary:* $14.81 per hour (CO minimum wage)*Hours Details:* Initially two groups per month (approx. 5pm-9pm). Specific dates to be scheduled but will likely be one Monday or Tuesday evening and one Friday evening per month. Additional hours to help with events as scheduled are available. Hours are consistent, but not guaranteed. This role is ideal for college students or young adults who may have another part-time or full -time job but are interested in learning more about caring for children and/or the foster care system.This position is a very part-time childcare staff position that provides a safe, fun, and interactive environment for kids and teens during evening programs. Hope & Home provides these childcare programs for foster families -- helping ensure children in foster care as well as the biological or adopted kids of foster parents have an incredible time while the foster parents attend support groups on-site.We are seeking amazing people who genuinely enjoy working with kids and teens, people who bring joy and enthusiasm to their interactions with others, and people who want to make a difference in the lives of children in foster care.This role is a fantastic addition to another work or school commitment.*Responsibilities Include:** Provide a safe and fun environment for children ages 1-18* Engage in evening activities for children in accordance with program philosophy* Conduct all activities in a positive and professional manner* Follow all Hope & Home policies and procedures* Supervise activities of all children in assigned age group* Participate and engage children with games, toys, and other approved activities* Report any incidents to supervisor* Maintain required paperwork and records* Responsible for set up before group and general cleaning duties after group each night* Assist as needed at other scheduled events throughout the year*Qualifications:** Ability to work two evenings each month as scheduled* At least one year of experience working with children preferred* Patience in working with children* Able to work well on a team* Flexible and able to adjust to change* Holds themselves to high standards* Willing to go the extra mile* Energetic and friendly* Must be able to pass background checks conducted pre-hire and throughout employment*About Hope & Home:*Hope & Home is a licensed foster care agency, training, licensing, and actively supporting foster families all across Colorado. Children who have been abused or neglected are given a stable and nurturing family to live with until it’s safe to go home again, or — when that safety isn’t possible — a family to give them a “forever home” through adoption.*Certifications / Educational Requirements:** Must be at least 18 years of age* Must complete CPR and First Aid training (upon hiring)* Must complete Hope & Home orientation and training (upon hiring)*Physical Requirements:*Employees may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
