*Description:* Position is for a Licensed Water Operator with the Charlevoix Township Water Department. Applicant is preferred to possess at least a D-3 “Limited Treatment” and S-3 “Distribution” EGLE Water Operators License or higher equivalent but other water licenses may also be considered. Applicant will work under the direct supervision of the licensed operator in charge of the township water system helping to maintain the municipal system and acting on the operator in charge’s behalf when absent.*Applicants must be able to** Comfortably lift and maneuver 50lbs or more* Work in all weather conditions including but not limited to rain, snow, extreme heat and cold.* At times, employment will require “After-Hours Call-In” for emergency situations and Overtime.* Available for rotating on-call weekends* Be exposed to loud noises from machinery to include, excavators, tractors, saw and impact style tools.* Use of hand tools including shovel, rakes, brooms etc.* Understand safety techniques and apply them to all situations.* Able to use computers and tablets.* Drive and operate snow removal equipmentTasks and duties may include routine fire hydrant flushing, fire hydrant repair, water main flow testing, water service connections, water main and component repair, water service repair, water production via in-ground wells, wellhouse maintenance, utility locating with MISSDIG system, asset locating and GPS, general building and grounds maintenance, daily water sampling and water sampling compliance with EGLE monitoring plan and several other operations of the water system. Some small-scale landscaping work and equipment maintenance may be necessary. Applicants must possess the ability to perform math, follow written and/or verbal instructions and to problem solve multiple situations.Applicants will be interacting with various departments within Charlevoix Township (Fire and Recreation), customers, residents, contractors, supply vendors of the township and must always display a positive image and attitude of/towards Charlevoix Township.Description is brief and doesn’t include all aspects. Applicants will also complete all tasks directed by the Operator in Charge.*Recommended Requirements*-* Class A Commercial driver’s license with air brake and combination vehicle trailer endorsement is a requirement, or the ability to obtain this license.
