Job Description

MSAD#60 is seeking a highly qualified, collaborative Social Worker to join our District Special Education team for the 25-26 school year. This is a part-time position at Noble Middle School, reporting to the Director and Assistant Director of Special Education. Social Workers in MSAD 60 work collaboratively with the special education administration and building administrators to support students' access to the curriculum.Successful candidates must demonstrate excellent professional judgment, and clear, effective communication skills, in order to work successfully with parents and teams of school-based and interdisciplinary professionals. LCSW or LCPC certification required.We remain steadfast in our commitment to the success of all MSAD-60 students. There are continuous opportunities for professional development, further education and growth.In addition to the responsibilities listed above, our Social Workers:provide consultation to special education teachers and other District staff;Develop and facilitate in-service workshops and training for staff;Support access to and consultation with outside agency resources (therapists, medical providers, case management, etc.);Provide emergency support to crisis interventions as appropriate.Primary ResponsibilitiesCompletes student assessments / screenings for the purpose of providing diagnostic feedback for eligibility considerations under IDEA.Provides individual and group counseling services and or social skills instruction for identified students.Provides staff training regarding social-emotional wellness, mental and behavioral health interventions.Provides parents with education and consultation when appropriate.Participates in IEP and 504 team meetings, and Response to Intervention teams, as appropriate.Provides written progress reports at each term reporting period and at each annual IEP review meeting.Maintains a caseload of assigned students in compliance with MUSER.Maintains records for each student following FERPA protocols.Works in cooperation with other school personnel to promote social and emotional growth of students.Works in cooperation with home and community resources to support positive social and emotional experiences for students.Keeps teachers and staff with educational interest informed of students needs / circumstances when such knowledge had bearing on educational programs and outcomes.Demonstrate a collaborative, problem-solving orientation during all meetings, with a focus on getting to a solution that is best for the student.Develop strong, positive relationships, and with students, parents and guardians, educators, administrators, community members, and colleagues.Participate positively and effectively in grade-level, team, school- and district-level meetings and workgroups.Engage in ongoing professional development to stay connected to best practices and new developments in the fieldPerforms any other duties as determined by the Director and Assistant Special Education Director.Job Type: Part-timePay: $30,000.00 - $60,000.00 per yearBenefits:* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Retirement plan* Vision insuranceWork Location: In person
