*Deputy Compliance Officer**Salary: D.O.E.**Primary Position Purpose:*The Deputy Compliance Officer ensures that people being supervised by Tribal Court are complying with case plans and court orders with respect to curfews, accessing services, remaining drug and alcohol free, attending court, and following all other court orders. The Deputy Compliance Officer duties will include home visits and urine, breath, or saliva screens for the presence of illegal drugs or alcohol. This position will report to the Probation Supervisor and provide recommendations for any violations and update supervisor regularly.*Primary Duties:** Generally will be on duty most weekdays evenings to 7:00 PM and from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on weekends.* Tracks compliance of persons under court supervision or court order.* Performs criminogenic assessments.* Regularly reports to Probabtion Supervisor and Tribal Judge on client progress and violations.* Maintains up to date, accurate, and complete records for each client. Enter all client activity in Court database.* Conduct investigations, prepare appropriate reports, and is prepared to make recommendations based on these investigations.* Will work closely with the Path to Wellness Coordinator to coordinate treatment services for the participants.* Assess the effectiveness of each client's requirements. Suggests constructive methods for addressing issues; and consults with supervisor, substance misuse conselor, case managers as necessary.* Following a complete evaluation refers clients to community agencies that offer specialized services required for a particular individuals needs.* Conducts home visits.* Administer drug and alcohol tests: BAC (Alcohol Breathalyzer testing); urine tests/mouth swabs.* Appear in Court as required.* Maintain good communication with other jurisdictions and seek permission to travel onto tribal lands to perform home visits.* Must be certified in T.A.P. (Tribal Access Program) for investigations.* Participate in trainings as needed.* Other duties as directed.*Knowledge Required:** Experience in law enforcement, such as probation/parole officer, police officer, court management, etc.* Criminal justice/law enforcement experience.* Drug and alcohol testing experience.* Experience working with Native Americans in tribal court setting.* Ability to use computer for reports and case management.* Ability to effectively communicate verally and in writing with clients, and professionals such as tribal judge, police, treatment centers and other professionals.* Ability to work evenings and weekends.*Supervisory Controls:*The Deputy Compliance Officer works under the direct supervision of the Probation Supervisor.*Personal Contacts:** No personal relationship with any client is allowed while serving in the position of Deputy Compliance Officer.*Physical Demands:** Must be licensed to drive a government vehicle.* Must be able to work in the field, courts, and client home environments.* Must be able to handle hostile situations with clients.*Work Environment/Working Conditions:** Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.* Ability to conduct office and field interviews.* Document all contacts (phone or in person) with clients.*Job Related Qualification Standards:** Experience in law enforcement, such as probation/parole officer and/or police officer.* Criminal justice/law enforcement experience preferred or at least two years in criminal justice or social work.Job Type: Full-timePay: $41,600.00 - $45,760.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Life insurance* Vision insuranceWork Location: In person
