As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced designer to take ownership of projects while also being a collaborative team member.__Position Overview:__A Lead Interior Designer at Gallatin Valley Design Group is responsible for directing and designing multiple projects from concept to completion. This creative and detail-oriented professional will develop and present compelling design concepts, refine details throughout the process, and ensure that each project aligns with the client’s vision. As the primary point of contact, they will foster strong client relationships, manage expectations, and guide clients through every phase of the design journey.__This role requires a blend of creative vision, technical expertise, and strong organizational skills. From initial client interactions to final project execution, the Lead Interior Designer will uphold the highest standards of design, efficiency, and collaboration while also contributing to the growth and mentorship of the team.__The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with expertise in project management, construction processes, materials, and design documentation. Additionally, a strong understanding of FF&E sourcing, space planning, and industry trends is highly preferred.__*Key Responsibilities:*__Project Oversight & Design Execution_* _Direct and design multiple projects from concept to completion, ensuring creative excellence and alignment with client goals._* _Develop and present design concepts, mood boards, space plans, and material selections._* _Lead project kick-offs, establish roadmaps, and set key milestones to maintain efficiency and clarity._* _Ensure design intent is carried through all phases, from initial sketches to final installation.__Project Management & Deliverable Development _* _Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure efficiency and profitability._* _Assign tasks and provide direction to team members, ensuring seamless workflow and collaboration._* _Conduct quality control reviews of all design deliverables, ensuring alignment with brand standards and project goals._* _Research, source, and evaluate furniture, fixtures, and materials, ensuring quality, aesthetics, and durability._* _Collaborate with vendors to obtain competitive pricing, quotes, and samples for client presentations._* _Generate and track purchase orders, invoices, and vendor acknowledgments, ensuring accuracy in all transactions._* _Monitor order statuses and estimated delivery timelines, proactively addressing delays or discrepancies._* _Maintain project account balances, tracking all purchases, credits, returns, and miscellaneous charges._* _Ensure all billable charges - freight, installation, and vendor fees—are accurately applied to client accounts._* _Work closely with internal teams to ensure financial transparency and adherence to project budgets.__Client & Partner Relations_* _Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships and managing expectations throughout the project._* _Collaborate with architects, developers, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution._* _Communicate design intent effectively to all stakeholders, addressing challenges proactively.__Team Leadership & Development_* _Mentor and support junior designers, fostering a culture of creativity and professional growth._* _Assist in the development and refinement of templates, operational tools, and design standards._* _Contribute to process improvements that enhance team efficiency and client satisfaction.__Operational & Administrative Support_* _Assist with the maintenance and organization of the firm resource library and workspaces._* _Assist in the development of operational tools, templates, and training programs to enhance firm-wide efficiency._* _Adapt to evolving team needs, whether supporting an installation, sourcing materials, or refining design specifications.__*Qualifications:*_* _5+ years of experience in interior design._* _Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and design documentation._* _Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, InDesign, Bluebeam, IVY, and Microsoft Office._* _Excellent project management and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously._* _Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities._* _Ability to navigate and interpret construction documents._* _Physical capability to assist with installations, including lifting, climbing, and handling design materials._* _Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-oriented mindset.__*Working Conditions & Benefits:*__This role is based in our design center/showroom in Bozeman, MT and involves a combination of office work, construction site visits, and in-home installations.
