*POSITION DESCRIPTION:*Under the leadership of the Program Director, the Theory/Practical Instruction provides training in industry related theory, hair design, haircutting, coloring, permanent waving, shop management, nail care, skin care, and all facets regarding Arkansas Cosmetology requirements. Responsibilities include student advisement on academic issues, curriculum development, recruitment and retention efforts, academic records completion, student record inventory and management, committee work, event planning, and participation in professional development and continuing education classes. *Successful candidate must be knowledgeable and able to teach classes, perform demonstrations in Cosmetology, Esthetics, and Manicuring. Experienced in digital learning platforms such as Google Classroom and Milady MindTap is a plus. Ability to speak fluent Spanish is a plus. **Work Schedule:* Monday - Friday day and evening shifts available. Day shift Saturday rotations may apply.*MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:** Present all materials designated to be taught in theory classes* Supervise and evaluate student classroom, practical, and clinic floor work* Maintain accurate records of student attendance, class participation, and testing* Arrange for guest speakers when appropriate* Maintain supplies of student handouts and testing material* Report test grades, on proper form, to office for recording on permanent record* Grade and return student work in a timely manner* Check student appearance daily ensuring ABS student uniform compliance* Instruct students on proper sanitation methods and oversee sanitation efforts throughout the day* Classroom management; ensure student compliance with school rules and regulations* Enact disciplinary actions in accordance with the schools outlined disciplinary procedures* Other duties as assigned*SKILLS & EXPERIENCE*§ Current Arkansas Cosmetology License - required§ Current Arkansas Cosmetology Instructor's License - required§ High School Diploma or GED*Experience:*§ Two (2) years’ experience in the field of cosmetology | desired§ At least one (1) year experience as a classroom instructor | preferred*Skills:*1. Excellent verbal and written communication2. Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail)3. Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
