Summary:Beacon/RENEW was founded in 1972 by parents of people with disabilities. We want to be the provider and employer of choice.Responsibilities:- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities as well as acquired brain injuries.- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming- Assist with medications according to prescribed schedules and dosage instructions- Monitor and record the vital signs of participants- Implement and follow participant care plans as directed by the supervisor- Ensure the safety and well-being of participants at all times- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding as needed- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for participants- Provide emotional support and companionship to participantsQualifications:- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a healthcare setting preferred- Knowledge of elder care and working with people with developmental and intellectual disabilities is preferred- Ability to assist with medications accurately and safely- Strong conflict management skills to handle challenging situations effectively- Familiarity with participant rights and regulations governing direct care workers or the ability to learn the rights and regulations- First aid certification is a plusPlease note that this job description is incomplete, and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
