Mission First is actively seeking highly skilled *Senior Research Scientists and Software Engineers* to lead the design, development, and prototyping of advanced technologies across multiple domains, including Cyber Network Security, Radio Frequency Machine Learning (RFML), Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Software-Defined Radio (SDR), and Advanced Systems Prototyping. This is an opportunity to conduct research at the intersection of cybersecurity, RFML, and software engineering in a Collaborative and innovative environment solving complex national challenges.*Candidates MUST HAVE an existing polygraph* and will conduct applied research, develop innovative prototypes, and collaborate with government and industry partners to deliver cutting-edge solutions in networking, wireless systems, and machine learning.*Key Responsibilities** Research, design, and develop large-scale prototypes in areas such as:* High-speed and wireless networking* Cloud infrastructure, containers, and network function virtualization (NFV)* RFML, DSP, and SDR-based systems* Machine learning-driven signal processing and communications* Develop software, scripts, and system documentation to demonstrate emerging capabilities.* Build and test prototypes involving *virtualized and distributed environments* (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Vagrant).* Create and optimize *RF and signal processing algorithms* for wireless systems (e.g., LTE, open-source stacks).* Utilize *ML frameworks* (TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch) for RF and data-driven applications.* Develop software using *Python, C/C++, Java, or Go*; perform integration and testing in *Linux* environments.* Work with *software-defined radio platforms* (Ettus USRPs, GNU Radio) and participate in debugging and optimization.* Apply *DevOps* practices using GitHub, Jenkins, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines.* Lead or contribute to technical discussions, documentation, and customer presentations.* Collaborate with cross-functional R&D teams and government PMs to shape and execute research programs.*Required Qualifications** Education & Experience: BS/BA with 8–12 years, MS/MA with 6–10 years, or Ph.D. with 3–7 years of relevant experience.* Additional 4 years of experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.* Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.* Technical Proficiency in One or More Areas:* Software Development: Python, C/C++, Java, Go; Linux environment experience.* Cyber and Network Systems: Network protocols, automation (Ansible, Helm, Puppet), routers/switches/firewalls.* Virtualization: Docker, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, NFV.* Machine Learning: TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch; ML algorithm development.* Signal Processing / RF: SDR development, RFML, DSP, LTE standards, OpenAirInterface, or srsLTE.* DevOps & CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub, Agile workflows.* Reverse Engineering (optional): Ghidra, IDA Pro, malware and system analysis.*Desired Qualifications** Familiarity with:* Wireless standards (LTE, 5G, open-source stacks)* Multiple-antenna or distributed signal processing techniques* COTS/GOTS integration and hardware/software tradeoffs* Quality control processes for prototype development* Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to document and present technical work.Job Type: Full-timePay: $100,000.00 - $290,000.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* Dental insurance* Employee assistance program* Health insurance* Health savings account* Life insurance* Paid time off* Professional development assistance* Referral program* Vision insuranceWork Location: In person
