We prioritize utilizing effective teaching practices and current technology and providing quality and comprehensive academic, career, and life-skill experiences.*Position Overview:*We seek a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), providing specialized instruction, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of our students.*Key Responsibilities:** Develop and Implement IEPs:* Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths and needs.* Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on assessment data and student goals.* Monitor and adjust IEPs as necessary to support student progress.* Maintains a portfolio for each student from the first day of school until the last day with work samples tied to IEP goals.*Specialized Instruction:** Provide specialized instruction tailored to meet the unique learning needs of each student.* Adapt teaching methods, materials, and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.* Utilize evidence-based practices and interventions to support student learning and engagement.* Effective utilization of district curriculum.*Collaboration and Communication:** Collaborate effectively with teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and other staff members to ensure coordinated and cohesive support for students.* Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, goals, and strategies for support.* Participate in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as required.*Classroom Management and Environment:** Establish a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment.* Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to promote positive behavior and social skills.* Maintain a safe and organized classroom setting that fosters respect, understanding, and acceptance.*Qualifications:** Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field.* Illinois Professional Educator License with LBS1 endorsement or equivalent.* Previous experience working with students with diverse learning needs.* Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.* Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.* Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered learning.Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, teaching certificate, and references to Principal Hunter Hebron at ._*JTC Academy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
