Established in 1974, Young World Academy offers quality childcare and a nurturing environment to Infant, Toddler and Preschool age children from diverse backgrounds. We are currently offering positions in each of these segments for Teachers and Lead Teachers.*Quick Overview*The Academy is always open to applications from qualified candidates with childcare experience, the positions center around child growth and development responsibilities.* You must have a true passion for nurturing children of all backgrounds and have unending patience.* Minimum of 1-2 years teaching experience with proven leadership skills,* Dedicated to the improvement of the teaching profession as a co-teacher and able to provide constructive criticism and helpful solutions to other teachers without alienating or discouraging them.* You should possess good observational and analytical skills and be able to offer fresh, creative solutions in times of demanding situations.* Must be willing and available to work your scheduled hours*Essential Duties and Responsibilities** The ability to create and implement developmentally appropriate and culturally responsive curriculum that engages children to increase their personal development through play or planned activities in all areas of development* Work with co-teacher in developing and implementing lesson plans and daily activities* Welcome families into the classroom and promote family engagement, or as otherwise directed due to Covid-19 Restrictions.*Maintain safe and positive program, which includes:** 1. Exhibiting a warm, engaged attitude toward the children in the classroom and their parents* 2. Encourage problem-solving and self-help skills in children* 3. Use of redirection, logical consequences, and natural consequences to guide children* 4. Offer reminders and choices to children to foster their positive self-esteem development* 5. Respond immediately to the individual needs of children and families* 6. Participate in professional growth through staff meetings* 7. Participate in at least 20 hours of professional development trainings annually, as a full time employee* 8. Maintain current first aid and CPR Certification and ensure equipment/kits/materials are maintained and available* 9. Follow all company and state EEC Policies and Procedures*Additional Responsibilities** Provide an emotionally and physically safe, caring classroom environment* Design and implement an early childhood curriculum in accordance with MA EEC Curriculum Guidelines* Evaluate progress of children and document observations* Communicate with parents through newsletters, bulletin board displays, developmental reports and conferences* Support the administration in it's quality program and initiativesJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:* Paid time offSchedule:* 8 hour shift* Monday to FridayLicense/Certification:* CPR Certification (Preferred)* Infant Toddler or Preschool Child Development Certification (Required)Ability to Commute:* Salem, MA 01970 (Required)Work Location: In person
