*Job Description*POSITION: 2025-2026 After School Program TeacherREPORTS TO: Head of SchoolLocation: Plymouth, NHHours: Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-5:00 pm from September 2, 2025 to June 5, 2026. Days: Pick 2-3 days that work for you or work M-F*ORGANIZATION PROFILE*Mountain Village Charter School is a public, tuition-free, elementary charter school. Our Mission is: _To engage students in experiences that integrate natural environments with the Montessori -inspired curriculum, igniting achievement in academic, social-emotional and physical development._ The approach places equal emphasis on rigorous academics, artistic expression, social development and community service.*Purpose Statement*The After-School Program Lead will implement and supervise a high quality after school program for MVCS students aligned with the mission and vision of Mountain Village Charter School Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-5:00pm from the second week of school to the last.*Essential Functions*· Leads program activities both in and outdoors (e.g. games, art, music, crafts etc.) for the purpose of addressing the individual and/or group interests of children.· Evaluates situations (e.g. disciplinary problems, hazardous conditions, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or facilitating resolution.· Interacts with children in various activities (e.g. snack time, group or individual play, etc.) for the purpose of providing for a safe, positive and fun environment.· Participates in various meetings (e.g. staff development, staff meetings, etc.) for the purpose of sharing information and/or improving one's skill/knowledge.· Performs record keeping and clerical functions (e.g. attendance, statistical and operational reports, library materials, scheduling, copying, etc.).· Sets up after-school program (e.g. opens/ closes school, games, art projects, etc.) for the purpose of providing for adequate preparation for activities.· Cleans work areas (e.g. classroom, storage, work tables, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining an orderly environmentOther Functions· Administers first aid to children as may be required for the purpose of meeting immediate health care needs.· Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.*QUALIFICATIONS*The After-School Program Lead will have the following qualifications education and/or experience:· Associate degree or bachelor’s degree· (preferred) At least two years of experience working with elementary aged students.*Other Qualifications*· Able to build immediate and supportive rapport with children of all ages; strong understanding of child development· Sense of humor, high ethical professional standards, equity perspective· Ability to problem-solve and manage ambiguity and adversity· Ability to work as part of a team· Able to pass state and federal background checks· Able to obtain First Aid/CPR Certification· Clear criminal background check upon hire*Preferred*· Passion for teaching· Enthusiasm for taking kids out of doors.· Some experience working in a nature-based and/or Montessori classroom or some Montessori and/or training preferred· Experience working with 6-14 year olds students in a rural setting*APPLICATION PROCESS*All interested applicants should submit a:· *Resume*Qualified applicants will be contacted upon receipt of application.
