WNC Direct Care is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals or couples to provide Host Family / Alternative Family Living (AFL) services for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Alternative Family Living for adults who have been diagnosed with Intellectual Developmental Delays (IDD). This AFL service aligns with the concept of “Adult Foster Care.” Within its definition, it offers residential services to members nestled in a familial embrace rather than the confines of group homes or institutions. The AFL provides and supervises essential care—administering medications, coordinating doctors’ appointments, facilitating therapy, and more—while ensuring shelter, transportation, and daily necessities within a nurturing family environment, all day and night.AFL providers welcome individuals into their homes, fostering a nurturing environment for those with diverse disabilities. They offer much more than just a roof over one’s head and meals; they create a genuine home filled with an extended family.
