Job DescriptionAetna Resources LLC, a CVS Health company, is hiring for the following role in New York, NY: Senior Data Engineer to Design, model, or implement corporate data warehousing activities. Duties include: develop large scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect and standardize data that helps generate insights and addresses reporting needs; write ETL (Extract / Transform / Load) processes; design database systems and develop tools for real-time and offline analytic processing; collaborate with data science team to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes; use knowledge in Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands and experience designing & optimizing queries to build data pipelines; use strong programming skills in Python, Java or any of the major languages to build robust data pipelines and dynamic systems; build data marts and data models to support Data Science and other internal customers; integrate data from a variety of sources, assuring that they adhere to data quality and accessibility standards; analyze current information technology environments to identify and assess critical capabilities and recommend solutions; and experiment with available tools and advises on new tools in order to determine optimal solution given the requirements dictated by the model/use case.Required QualificationsMaster's degree in Computer Information Systems, Business Administration Information Systems, Computer Science, IT or any engineering related field and two (2) years of experience with each of the following: building robust data flows and analytical platforms; working with big data including Hive, Pig, Map Reduce, Sqoop, Oozie, and Spark; using various programming languages including Python and SQL; Unix Shell scripting; optimizing and designing databases including Teradata, Netezza, Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL, HBase, and MongoDB; implementing SQL queries; and content workflow software (JIRA)COVID RequirementsCOVID-19 Vaccination RequirementCVS Health requires certain colleagues to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any booster shots if required), where allowable under the law, unless they are approved for a reasonable accommodation based on disability, medical condition, religious belief, or other legally recognized reasons that prevents them from being vaccinated.
