P almer Gas & Oil is looking to hire a Fleet Maintenance Manager to join their growing team! 4 years experience in leading a team and department Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university; or 5-10 years related mechanical and vehicle experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Earn $100k to $120k Annually! SUMMARY Oversees the mechanics, manages the vehicle fleet, schedules maintenance, and works closely with internal employees and vendors. WORKING HOURS Normal work schedule is 7:00 am to 4:30 pm with a ½ hour lunch break. Occasionally, during our busy season, additional hours may be required to meet our business needs and job requirements. Must be able to attend occasional after-hours events. Must be available off hours for emergency situations. ​ WORKING LOCATION Atkinson NH. Must also travel to Somersworth’s location occasionally. Manage vehicle assignments for employees and or departments including seasonal assignments. Purchases vehicles and equipment to expand and/or enhance the fleet. Oversees and schedules truck builds including vehicle specifications and installation of accessories (i.e. shelving). Identify vehicles that need to be replaced and list them for sale. Runs fixed asset meetings regarding vehicles. Manages vehicle lists and keeps all records of vehicles up to date (including intranet & Ignite) Oversees Samsara fleet set-up. Sets up new and transferred vehicles. Monitor garage facilities for safety and cleanliness to keep in line with company standards. Ensures that all organizational activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and law governing business operations (including DOT & OSHA) Periodically inspects company vehicles for any damage or cleanliness. Works with management & supervisory team to ensure they are on schedule to be cleaned. Schedules regular maintenance, preventative maintenance and emergency repairs as needed on all vehicles. Works closely with supervisor or department personnel who schedules vehicle maintenance. Provides reports to management on budgeting, schedules, maintenance and fleet progress and repairs. Develops methods to decrease costs and improve efficiency. Vehicle performance monitoring, record keeping, and improvement. (utilizes WEX, Samsara, etc.) Oversee vehicle registrations and all state and federal maintenance inspections as necessary. Establishes and maintains vendor relationships. Reviews policies, procedures, and process to ensure efficiency within the department. Ensures appropriate vehicle parts inventory levels and maintains inventory in a cost-effective manner (lubricants, tires, filters, etc). Always maintains and promotes company brand guidelines and core values (Friendly, Simple, Safe). SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises the mechanics. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or five to ten years related mechanical and vehicle experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Four years’ experience of leading a team and department. CDL Class B with Hazmat, Tanker and Air Brake desired. Must be able to pass PERC Education Program (PEP).
