This role combines high-level financial oversight with hands-on operational leadership, covering financial planning, risk management, reporting, and capital strategy. The CFO will drive value creation through data-driven insights, efficient financial processes, and alignment of financial goals with the company’s broader vision. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a pragmatic operator with a deep understanding of finance, compliance, and business growth dynamics.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Financial LeadershipDevelop and implement the company’s overall financial strategy to support business objectives and sustainable growth.Serve as a strategic advisor to the President and leadership team, on financial planning, forecasting, and business performance.Evaluate and advise on the financial impact of long-range planning and new initiativesFinancial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)Lead the annual budgeting and long-term financial planning processes.Build robust forecasting models and conduct scenario analysis to inform strategic decisions.Monitor business performance metrics and financial KPIs, ensuring timely and insightful reporting to stakeholders.Financial Reporting & ComplianceOversee the preparation and accuracy of internal and external financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant standards.Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and legal advisors as necessary.Risk Management & Internal ControlsIdentify and mitigate financial risks through appropriate policies, controls, and governance frameworks.Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial systems.Develop and enforce risk management practices, including insurance, tax compliance, and legal exposure.Capital Management & FundraisingManage the company’s capital structure, including cash flow, debt, equity, and working capital.Optimize financing strategies to support business needs while maintaining financial flexibility.Lead fundraising efforts, including venture capital, private equity, debt financing, or IPO readiness, depending on the company’s stage and strategy.Treasury & Cash Flow ManagementOversee short- and long-term cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.Optimize banking relationships and treasury operations to ensure sufficient capital availability.Monitor foreign exchange, credit, and interest rate exposures where applicable.Operational & Cross-Functional LeadershipCollaborate closely with department leaders (e.g., operations, sales, marketing, HR, product) to align financial planning with business strategies.Implement financial systems and tools that drive automation, scalability, and data-driven decision-making.Lead cost optimization and efficiency initiatives across the organization.Team Leadership & DevelopmentBuild and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Provide mentoring, training, and career development opportunities for finance staff.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).Proven experience (10+ years) in a senior financial leadership role.Deep understanding of corporate financial law and risk management practices.Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles.Experience in strategic planning and execution.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, NetSuite).Seniority levelSeniority levelExecutiveEmployment typeEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionJob functionFinance and SalesIndustriesGambling Facilities and CasinosReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Valicy by 2xGet notified about new Chief Financial Officer jobs in Greenville, NC.We’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
