OverviewProperty Account Engineer or Field Risk Engineering Consultant (Sr Consultant or Principal level) role at Zurich North America. This is a work from home role, ideally positioned within the San Francisco Bay Area, Portland, or Seattle. Travel expected: 15-25% for the Account Engineer role and 30-40% with a company car for the Field Engineer role.Zurich’s Risk Engineering Property North-West Team is seeking an experienced Property Risk Engineer with large property highly protected risk (HPR) experience. This role can be filled as an Account Engineer OR as a Field Engineer.ResponsibilitiesProvide field risk engineering to meet underwriting requirements.Develop and implement customer service strategies that reduce loss and improve customer operations.Provide engineering support to underwriting team by attending client broker meetings.Perform field engineering services where necessary, primarily for larger locations on accounts and/or prospects within the region.Deliver advanced property consultative services to customers, including identifying exposures with significant loss potential, investigation of cause/effect of major losses and property management programs.Assist in marketing Zurich risk transfer insurance products in conjunction with underwriting professionals and agents across company business segments.Senior Property Risk Account Engineer responsibilities include management of account risk portfolio and providing account-level engineering to meet underwriting requirements.Develop and implement customer service strategies that reduce loss and improve customer operations.Provide engineering support to underwriting team by attending client broker meetings.Monitor property account engineering services to ensure delivery is proper, on-time, and cost effective.Perform field engineering services where necessary, primarily for larger locations on accounts and/or prospects within the region.Provide advanced property consultative services to customers, including identifying exposures with significant loss potential, investigation of cause/effect of major losses and property management programs.Assist in marketing Zurich risk transfer insurance products in conjunction with underwriting professionals and agents across company business segments.QualificationsBasic Qualifications:Senior Consultant: Bachelor’s Degree and 6+ years in Property Risk Engineering OR High School Diploma or Equivalent with 8+ years in Property Risk Engineering OR Zurich Certified Apprentice with an Associate’s degree and 6+ years in Property Risk EngineeringPrincipal:Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years in Property Risk Engineering OR High School Diploma or Equivalent with 10+ years in Property Risk Engineering OR Zurich Certified Apprentice with an Associate’s degree and 8+ years in Property Risk EngineeringPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Fire Science, or related fieldHPR Property experienceProperty Account Executive & Loss Control/Risk Engineering experience within the insurance industryCertified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS)Strong communication and consultative skillsOutstanding collaborative skillsHistory of working successfully in a team environmentHigh proficiency with PC and MS-Office softwareCompensation and BenefitsThe combined salary range for this position is $98,300.00 - $158,100.00. The proposed salary ranges are:Senior Consultant: $98,300.00 - $161,000.00 with 15% short-term incentive eligibilityPrincipal: $113,100.00 - $158,100.00 with 20% short-term incentive eligibilityZurich compensation is influenced by location, role, skill set, and experience. Eligible employees may receive short-term incentives and merit increases.
