Responsibilities include management of all financial departments, allocation of resources, and preparation of the annual budget. Departmental responsibilities typically include Accounting, Reimbursement, Managed Care, Health Information, and Utilization Review. Functions at an executive level in an active leadership role. The CFO reports to the Hospital CEO and maintains relationships with the Division CFO, Hospital CEO, COO, and CNO.What you will do in this roleYou will assume a lead role in analyzing and exploring ways to reduce hospital operating costs and increase revenues based on market trends, financial reports and operating procedures.You will direct the preparation of internal financial reports, ensuring they reliably reflect the hospital's financial position.You will direct the timely submission of all financial data and reports required by government and regulated agencies, including payroll tax reports, public disclosure reports, and third-party payor cost reports.You will identify and report undesirable trends and potential business opportunities and make recommendations for action.You will assist the CEO in developing long- and short-range hospital operations plans, including service demand analyses, resources availability analyses, productivity, and cost-benefit analyses of proposed capital and staff expansions.You will develop long- and short-range operational and capital budgets aligned with the hospital's plans and objectives.You will direct the preparation of hospital statistical reports, budgets, and financial reports.You will administer general accounting and patient business services, including third-party reimbursement and financial/statistical reporting in accordance with policies and procedures.You will provide informal direction in data processing, distributed systems, material management and medical record functions, and monitor performance to ensure fiscal responsibilities are fulfilled.You will forecast the impact of business decisions on financial results.You will monitor financial and economic information to identify trends and indicators affecting operations, planning, and investments.You will communicate financial and operational performance with stakeholders, including senior administration and facility staff and Division Office.You will review denial issues and trends to maximize net reimbursement and maintain accuracy of the charge master.You will review contracts and other financial arrangements to ensure alignment with profitability goals.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredMaster's degree preferred4+ years of experience in a Hospital Controller, Assistant CFO, or VP of Finance role preferredCertified Public Accountant preferredTriStar Health, a 741 acute care bed facility, is the region's largest, most comprehensive healthcare provider with locations in Tennessee and Southern Kentucky.
