Extensive knowledge of CARC paint process Job Specific ***** Clean and prepare surfaces Remove old finishes using masking, grit blast, or chemical rinse. Clean and smooth surfaces before applying new paint Prepare paints using equipment such as viscosity cups, thickness gauges. Must have an understanding of chemistry to mix the appropriate compounds for the job Apply paint using a variety of techniques and tools such as spray equipment, airbrushes, stencils, roller, or brushes. Paint may need to be applied on primers, prefinishes, and finishing coatings. May need to use special safety equipment such as self-contained suits, protective eyewear. Must keep the work area clean Must carefully follow all guidelines for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste. Responsible for maintaining paint equipment in working order, including troubleshooting the equipment. Complete understanding of MIL-DTL-53072 Chem Agaen Risistant Coating (CARC) System application procedures and quality control inspection
