PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES · Oversee SMS adoption for the Brand Portfolio· Lead daily plant DMP meetings and implement plans to reduce costs/waste, improve cycle time, delivery, machine efficiency, and labor utilization.· Ensure full plant capacity utilization by managing lead times and loading.· Standardize production procedures and document improvements.· Develop capacity plans to meet demand and ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and CSA Z299.· Support predictive/preventive maintenance programs for plant equipment reliability.· Support warehouse procedures for inventory accuracy.· Use problem-solving methods to drive continuous improvement.· Manage material ordering and delivery processes.· Collaborate with Fairfield planning to optimize production schedules and address changes.· Maintain positive employee relations, enforce HR policies, and support employee development and training.· Encourage employee engagement, manage suggestion systems, and reward performance.· Implement and supervise HSE systems to achieve IIF status and ensure compliance with OHSA and legislative standards.· Support training and performance appraisals for staff.· Ensure alignment with operational and financial policies.· Maintain 5S housekeeping and quality standards.REQUIREMENTS· Strong leadership, supervisory and communication skills.· Extensive knowledge of production and safety management, occupational health and safety and employment standards legislation.· Ability to translate plans/schedules into weekly production schedules by equipment group capabilities· Knowledge of ISO9001/TS16949/CSA Z299.3 quality systems.· Knowledge of World Class manufacturing techniques such as Kaizen, Six Sigma, JIT, Lean, TQM, KanBan, COQ, ERP, etc.· Community College or equivalent· 6-10 years’ experience· Rescheduling of machines/labor when materials or maintenance problems arise – daily· Adjustments to manpower and equipment levels to address capacity issues.
