Director of NursingThe Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for planning, coordinating, leading, and evaluating all clinical services, especially skilled care, to ensure regulatory, quality and education are performed to the highest standards set by the organization. The DON oversees clinical operations, ensures standards of care and regulatory burdens are met, maintains agency care documentation, and fosters relationships with healthcare facilities and the community. This role is critical in ensuring the delivery of safe and eective patient care within the guidelines of state and federal laws.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Management: Serve as the Supervising Nurse, ensuring appropriate sta supervision during all servicehours. Supervise and manage clinical operations, ensuring availability during operating hours andon-call support after hours. Consult and collaborate with the Executives on process formulation, staing assessments,and implementation.Lead clinical and field sta in performing their duties, ensuring adherence to agency policies and procedures, as well as establishing standards of care.Compliance and Quality Assurance: Represents the Agency in regulatory audits and ensures compliance with licensure,certification criteria, and accreditation standards. Oversee the implementation and evaluation of Agency standards of care for all services. Maintains eective, eicient, and complete client care documentation in the currentsystem. Oversee the QAPI program to ensure accurate and timely completion of audits,implementation of corrective action plans and other identified improvements with theclinical operations of the Agency.Clinical Operations: Ensure timely, appropriate admission of referrals and reassessment of patient needs. Develop, maintain, and support all Agency standards of care to establish the agency'sclinical quality goals and evaluate their achievement, implementing programs to supportand promote the standards. Implement and ensure adherence to physician orders. Review and notify appropriate lab results to the physician and care team. Maintain responsibility for reviewing Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS)documentation for accuracy, completeness and adherence to Agency standards of care. Ensure timely submission of the Notice of Admission (NOA) and the validation report forOASIS submission to the State repository. Manage supply vendors, create formulary, develop par and ordering protocols for allmedical supplies necessary based on patient conditions.LICENSE # OFFICE: FAX: 9380 SUNSET DRIVE, SUITE B-222, MIAMI, FL 33173Sta Development: Provide sta development, including new hire orientation, yearly in-service education, andcontinuing education. Evaluate the performance of clinical personnel through timely performance evaluations andcompetency assessments. Orient and train field personnel, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, as well asaccreditation standards and regulatory requirements.Community Relations: Actively develop and maintain referral sources and relationships with medical and healthcommunities. Participate in agency events and promote community awareness of services.Additional Duties: Participate in the on-call rotation as defined by the on-call policy. Review claims requested by payers, especially items related to clinical documentation andstandards of care. Perform other duties as assigned.Education, Experience & Job Requirements: Current and valid Registered Nursing license in the state(s) of practice. Bachelors degree in nursing, Masters preferred. Experience as a home health professional, prior experience as a field clinician preferred,with training in health service administration. At least one year of supervisory or administrative experience in home health care, hospice,or related health industry. Experience in personnel management, including hiring, supervision, clinical training, andevaluation. Current CPR Certification. Must be able to read, write, and speak English & Spanish. Knowledge of oice computer equipment and software.Competencies: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High level of confidentiality and eective response to questions from employees,managers, and outside entities. Ability to work in a diverse and inclusive organization. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced oice setting. Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress, and crisis situations.Physical and Working Conditions: Maintain a valid state drivers license and a registered, reliable vehicle meeting state lawand company insurance standards.
