The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and staff as well as a strong background in education. This role involves creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children while promoting their social, emotional, and educational development. The Childcare Program Supervisor will work closely with children, families, and staff to create an enriching environment.*Responsibilities** *Program Operations & Supervision*â— Support daily operations across both child care sites, ensuring smooth transitions, staff coverage, and adherence to schedules.â— Serve as acting site lead in the absence of the Child Care Director, including responding to licensing visits, parent concerns, and staff needs.â— Monitor classroom environments to ensure alignment with curriculum goals, safety standards, and licensing requirements.â— Assist with staff scheduling, classroom assignments, and ratio compliance.*Staff Support & Leadership*â— Provide coaching, modeling, and support to classroom staff to promote high-quality care and positive team culture.â— Support classroom coverage while staff are on breaks or are out. Help teachers and children during transitions and during challenging moments.â— Participate in onboarding and orientation of new staff.â— Support professional development efforts by identifying training needs and encouraging reflective practice.*Compliance & Documentation*â— Assists Child Care Director in ensuring adherence to state licensing regulations, health and safety protocols, and organizational policies, including MERIT is updated and staff STARs training is current.â— Maintain accurate records related to attendance, incident reports, and daily operations.â— Assist with preparation for licensing inspections and quality assessments.*Family & Community Engagement*â— Build positive relationships with families through daily communication and responsive support.â— Address parent concerns or questions in a timely and professional manner.â— Support family engagement events and center-wide communications.*Qualifications**â— Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (required)â— Required: 10 ECE Credits (12 children or less) 25 ECE Credits (13-24 children) 45 ECE Credits (25 or more children) and 2 years experience as a teacher. Experience Preferred: Minimum 3 years of experience in a licensed child care setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead teacher roleâ— Knowledge of state child care licensing regulations and developmentally appropriate practicesâ— Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skillsâ— CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)â— Ability to travel between both center locations as needed.
