This role requires a comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety, along with the ability to communicate their importance effectively to other employees. Additionally, the phlebotomist must possess the skills necessary to provide orientation and training for patient service tasks. Responsibilities + Perform blood collection using venipuncture and capillary techniques. + Conduct pediatric blood collections and handle difficult draws. + Ensure compliance with safety standards and communicate their importance. + Provide orientation and training for patient service tasks. + Be flexible and available for on-call work, including same-day assignments. + Participate in a couple of weeks of training before transitioning to on-call status. Essential Skills + High School Diploma + CPT 1 License + Externs okay + Comfortable working with patients + Ability to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts + Flexibility to be called and work on the same day Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in inpatient specimen processing + Proficiency in training and orienting new employees + Adaptability to work in various locations Work Environment This is an on-call, per diem position requiring availability for 12-hour shifts across all times of day, including weekends. The phlebotomist must be willing to work at multiple locations including Riverside, Wildomar, Temecula, and Moreno Valley. Due to a union agreement, contingent workers are scheduled based on available shifts from same-day call outs. The dress code requires scrubs, and the work environment involves traveling to different locations as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Riverside, CA.
