Amergis Healthcare Staffing, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Clackamas, Oregon.Job Description & Requirements~ Specialty:ICU - Intensive Care Unit~ Discipline:RN~ Duration: 13 weeks~36 hours per week~ Shift: 12 hours~ Employment Type:TravelThe Critical Care Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in a variety of critical care settings. Consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care. Responsibilities include monitoring, assessment, vital sign monitoring, ventilator management, medication administration, intravenous insertion and infusion, central line care, catheters, and maintenance of a running record of the patient's status. The Critical Care RN must be prepared at all times to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other lifesaving measures for the patients in their care.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient careAssesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's conditionCollects, documents, analyzes, and interprets data and other information from healthcare team membersCommunicates nursing interventions, expected outcomes and the time frames for expected completion to other members of the hospital health care teamFunctions as a resource to the health care team members in planning for patient's dischargeDocuments the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventionsProvides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environmentInitiates and evaluates patient and/or family educationCompares expected and actual outcomes of care and identifies deviation from the plan of careAdheres to facility/client policies, procedures and protocols at all timesPerforms other duties as assigned/necessaryMinimum Requirements:Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practicesOne year of critical care experience is preferredMinimum of one year acute or critical care experience preferredCurrent BLS card; current ACLS/PALS card (per facility requirement)Complies with all relevant professional standards of practiceParticipation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicableTB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable to job siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirementsAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of ageBenefitsAt Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits:~ Competitive pay & weekly paychecks~ Health, dental, vision, and life insurance~401(k) savings plan~ Awards and recognition programs*Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.About AmergisAmergis, formerly known as Maxim Healthcare Staffing, has served our clients and communities by connecting people to the work that matters since 1988.
