Athens, Georgia - Critical Care NP/PA Job Clinical Role:Job Type: Permanent positionPosition: Critical Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)Schedule: 12-hour shiftsStart Date: As soon as possibleTeam Structure: Work alongside physicians and seven other APPsTypical Volume: 8-10 patients (with physician supervision)Experience Required:2 years of ICU experience preferredProficiency in procedures such as intubation, central line, and arterial line placement preferredTraining available for certain proceduresEMR: EPICCompensation & Benefits:Salary: Commensurate with experienceBenefits: Comprehensive package including health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) retirement plan Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) passionate about delivering exceptional critical care to join our multi-specialty ICU team at a leading hospital in Athens, Georgia.In this vital role, you'll collaborate with intensivists, specialists, residents, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide evidence-based care to critically ill patients. Our ICU offers exposure to diverse, complex medical and surgical conditions, supporting continuous learning and growth. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plansManage life-sustaining therapies (e.g., mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic support, CRRT)Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, including EKGs and ABGsOrder and interpret lab results and adjust medications as neededCollaborate with the care team for seamless transitions and discharge planningEducate patients and families regarding conditions and treatment plansParticipate in daily rounds and case discussionsMaintain accurate electronic health recordsEngage in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education Qualifications: Current, unrestricted Georgia APRN (Acute Care NP) or PA licenseMaster's or Doctoral degree from an accredited programICU experience preferred but not requiredCurrent BLS and ACLS certificationStrong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and procedural skillsExcellent communication and teamwork abilities About the Organization: For over 40 years, our client has been dedicated to delivering high-quality critical care to the community.
